PW2801. Baccarat Modern Magnum Museum Piece 1995* Limited Edition of 100 – NUMBER 64. Perles sur fond bleu. In 1995 Baccarat made seven limited edition weights – all of them rose themed (Coeur de rose) and four of the seven set within three rings of millefiori. The rose appears to float over the soft blue ground, held aloft by the magnetism of the crisp millefiori rings all around. This paperweight is pictured Dunlop’s book on page 225. My opinion: it is astounding – ages of skills practiced tens of thousands of hours culminating in this extraordinary work, preserved forever, so please enjoy. Condition is excellent. PW1217.  Baccarat 1980 Museum piece Limited Edition of 75. Dahlias have been a staple in paperweights for 160 years, having first been made famous by the Saint Louis dahlias of circa 1850. Baccarat’s dahlias stand out as some of the most beautiful ever made. This is one of the nicest ones I have seen, probably the best because of the way the perfect petals are stacked in a mound. The petals are yellow and white and sit on a translucent blue ground. The bottom is etched with the Baccarat logo and engraved 1980 and 71/75. In 1980 Baccarat made six limited edition weights (75 each) and all of them were dahlias. Signature cane B1980. Condition is excellent. 3 1/8 inch diameter; 2 3/16 inches tall; one pound and seven ounces.  $600

PW2707. Baccarat Museum Piece Limited Edition 1975 Number 49.

This was Baccarat’s first underwater paperweight and they did a nice job with it.  As in real life, the seahorse is using his lower body to grab onto sea vegetation. The translucent blue bubbly ground give an underwater world impression. Excellent condition. Signature cane in the ground “B1975”. Base etched with Baccarat logo and engraved 1975 and 49/260. 2 15/16 inch diameter; 2 inches tall; one pound and three ounces.  $375

PW2633. Rare Baccarat 1972 numbered edition (#76) pink flower over violet ground. This is possibly one-of-a-kind, or they may have made a few—it’s not one of the six limited editions for that year. It’s a lovely weight, reminiscent of an antique flower weight by Clichy or Pantin. Etched with the Baccarat logo on the base and engraved “76” “1972”. 3 3/16 inch diameter;  2 1/8 inches tall; one pound and eight ounces. Condition is excellent.  $400

PW2652. Rare Baccarat 1975 numbered edition (#5) pink clematis flower with bud over translucent gemmy blue ground. This is possibly one-of-a-kind, or they may have made a few—it’s not one of the five limited editions for that year. Since the flower is similar to one they used in one of their 1974 limited edition weights and since it was only the 5th weight they made in 1975, my guess is that they were using up last year’s leftovers. Regardless, it’s a beautiful weight, evocative of their antique flower weights. Etched with the Baccarat logo on the base and engraved  “5” “1975”. 3 1/16 inch diameter;  2 1/8 inches tall; one pound and five ounces. Condition is excellent.  $500

PW1606. Baccarat Museum Piece Numbered Edition from 1971. It is likely this is a one-of-a-kind or perhaps they made a few of these. At any rate it is very rare. Note the exquisite petals. Beautiful Millefiori Flower on translucent blue ground. Signature/date cane “B1971”. Base has two etched Baccarat emblems and is engraved “1971” and “100”, meaning this was the 100th collector paperweight they made in 1971. I graduated from college that year so I know it is very old. Condition is excellent with some shelf wear. 3 inch diameter; 2 1/8 inches tall; one pound and four ounces.  $500

PW1777. Baccarat 1986 Limited Edition Museum piece. 1986 Limited Edition of 200 weights. A wonderful floral bouquet with arum lilies and five petaled flowers hovers peacefully over a white honeycomb over blue ground offering a tribute to the fertility of nature. The diameter is 3 3/16 inches; height 2 1/4 inches; one pound, eight ounces. The bottom is marked with the Baccarat logo, 1986 and #80/200. Date cane “B1986” at the center of a flower. New/Perfect/ Pristine.   $575

PW1675. Baccarat Coronation Museum Piece 1953. These were the first sulphides made by Baccarat in the 20th Century. Faceted with concave facets – one on top and six on the side with  a beautiful diamond grid cut into the base. Etched along the base “Baccarat 1953”. Condition is excellent. 2 3/4 inch diameter; 1 9/16 inches tall; thirteen ounces.  $100
