PW2807. Baccarat Modern Super Magnum Pedestal Museum Piece 1998* Limited Edition of 50 – NUMBER 41. Lagoons, a magnum sized piedouche featuring white lined emperor fish and royal blue surgeon fish swimming in a tropical lagoon (Dunlop). This paperweight (this very one not just one of the other 49) is pictured in the most complete Baccarat book ever published, Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop, on page 234, and fills the entire page. A two dimensional picture, cannot possible compete with the view you have holding this in your hand under a good light with time to watch the fish swim peacefully through the crystal clear warm water. There is more to this weight than we see at first glance. Condition is excellent. Limited edition of 50 and numbered 41/50 along with 1998 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo. This and the few other large pedestal weights Baccarat make in their waning years are testament to the skill and breath of talent of the great paperweight artists at Baccarat – the artisans skills had been steadily building from the 1950s and now, in what rumors surly warned was a line with numbered years, out of spite and pride came these few amazing masterpieces. Each is an important piece in art glass history. Comes with box and original certificate of authenticity –the box is very large to accommodate this very large glass sculpture – the box is 8 ¾ inches tall by 7 ¼ by 7 ¼ and with the weight weighs a hair under nine pounds. Actual paperweight is 4 7/8 inch diameter; 5 inches tall; the glass paperweight weighs six pounds and four ounces.  $3250

PW2623. Baccarat Modern Museum Piece * Limited Edition of 200 – NUMBER 71. Apple Branch and Blossoms with Yellow Ground. Baccarat was avant garde this year – all six of their Limited Edition weights was made in homage to traditional Japanese art.This paperweight (this very one not just one of the other 199) is pictured in the most complete Baccarat book ever published, Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop on page 204. A two dimensional picture, no matter how expertly taken, cannot possible compete with the view you have holding this in your hand under a good light with time to meditate on the perfect balance of the design. Condition is excellent. Limited edition of 200 and numbered 71/200 along with 1987 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo.  Signature cane “B 1987”.  Comes with box and original certificate. PW2787. Baccarat Modern Magnum Museum Piece 1994* Limited Edition of 100 – NUMBER 65. Dahlia and Rose Bouquet. In 1994 Baccarat made six limited edition weights – all of them flower themed and three of them bouquets. The designer for the series, Evelyne Julien “has redefined the art of paperweight-making by freely interpreting shapes and colors. Her talent has brought innovation to the interplay of harmony and volume.” -from the original 1994 Baccarat brochure. This is one of the greatest French bouquets from any age. It floats above a mauve ground. This paperweight (this very one not just one of the other 99) is pictured in the most complete Baccarat book ever published, Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop. This paperweight is pictured on page 222. Condition is excellent. Limited edition of 100 and numbered 65/100 along with 1994 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo. PW2788. Baccarat Modern Magnum Museum Piece 1995* Limited Edition of 100 – NUMBER 47. Semis de roses fond rouge. In 1995 Baccarat made seven limited edition weights – all of them rose themed (Coeur de rose) and four of the seven set within three rings of millefiori. These four blossoms and bud are as perfect an art glass rose has ever been – stunning and set on a mesmerizing rose cushion. This paperweight (this very one not just one of the other 99) is pictured in the most complete Baccarat book ever published, Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop, on page 224. Condition is excellent. Limited edition of 100 and numbered 47/100 along with 1995 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo. Comes with box and original certificate of authenticity. 3 5/8 (very large) inch diameter; 2 1/4 inches tall; the glass paperweight weighs two pounds.  $1100

PW2262. Baccarat Museum Piece Limited Edition 1982 52/175. Beautiful dragonfly and flower over a green and rocky ground. Perfect condition with box and certificate also in excellent condition although slightly musty since it is from a French collection in Normandy. The pieces from this collection are amazing – all perfect – like taking a time machine back to the factory store. Signature cane in the ground “B1982”. PW2268. Baccarat Magnum-size Museum Piece Limited Edition 1993 number 34/150. The certificate lists this by reference number 774-844 with no name but the gentleman who owned the collection called it Butterfly. Baccarat butterfly weights first became popular in the mid-19th Century. This one is exquisite and hovers above a grassy green ground. 150 is a low edition making this quite a rare piece. Perfect condition with box and certificate the box is in great shape except for a  bit of water spotting -also slightly musty since it is from a French collection in Normandy. The pieces from this collection are amazing – all perfect – like taking a time machine back to the factory store. Signature cane in the ground “B1993”. Base etched with Baccarat logo and engraved “1993 34/150. 3 1/4 inch diameter; 2 5/16 inches tall; one pound and eight ounces.  $525

PW2274. Baccarat Magnum-size Museum Piece Limited Edition 1986 number 139/200. The certificate lists this by reference number 774-800 with no name but the gentleman who owned the collection called it Lupins (lupines). He was in the luxury trade so I expect he was correct. 

200 is a low edition making this quite a scarce piece. The ground is white honeycomb over blue – Baccarat had a series of honeycomb ground weight to symbolize the fertility of nature. Perfect condition with box and certificate the box is in great shape except for a split along one of the rear edges -also slightly musty since it is from a French collection in Normandy. The pieces from this collection are amazing – all perfect – like taking a time machine back to the factory store. Signature cane in the center of the white flower “B1986”. Base etched with Baccarat logo and engraved “1986 139/200. 3 1/4 inch diameter; 2 5/16 inches tall; one pound and eight ounces.  $500

PW2993. Baccarat Modern Magnum Museum Piece 1998* Limited Edition of 100 – NUMBER 42. The 1998 Baccarat theme was Le cirque – The Circus. This amazing juggler has five pins in the air at one time. Limited edition of 100 and numbered 42/100 along with 1998 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo. PW2994. Baccarat Modern Magnum Museum Piece 1999* Limited Edition of 100 – NUMBER 78. The 1999 Baccarat theme was Les Jardins du Monde – The Gardens of the World. This is “Paimpol”. This paperweight (not just one of the 99 others) is pictured in Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop. A beautiful tropical fenced tropical garden that captures your imagination and transports you to an island paradise. Note the precise detail in the flowers. Condition is excellent. Limited edition of 100 and numbered 78/100 along with 1999 for the year and etched with the Baccarat logo. 3 9/16 inch diameter; 2 5/8 inches tall; this glass paperweight weighs two pounds and one ounce.  $1250

PW2404. Baccarat 1983 Gentian on amber ground. A lovely rendition of this classical motif on a translucent golden amber ground. Signature cane “B1983” in the ground. Engraved “85/175” and “1983”. 3 3/16 inch diameter;  2 3/8 inches tall; one pound and ten ounces. Condition is excellent.  $350

PW2638. Rare Baccarat 1973 numbered edition yellow flower with bud over translucent gemmy blue ground. This is possibly one-of-a-kind, or they may have made a few—it’s not one of the two limited editions for that year (both Gridels). It’s a beautiful weight, evocative of their antique flower weights. Etched with the Baccarat logo on the base and engraved  “236” “1973”. 3 1/16 inch diameter;  2 3/16 inches tall; one pound and six ounces. Condition is excellent.  $350

PW2767. Baccarat Magnum Museum Piece 1970 unique triple tulip over black and white ground. In the first few years of making limited edition collector weights, Baccarat also made a number of one-of-a-kind weights. This is one of them and it’s pictured in the most complete Baccarat book ever published, Baccarat Paperweights: Two Centuries of Beauty by Paul Dunlop, on page 177. Condition is excellent – this has obviously always been in the possession of a collector. Even the black, mirror-like base is pristine. It is  numbered 21 (meaning it was the 21st weight they made so far that year, exclusive of numbered editions, of which there were four that year) along with 1970, etched with the Baccarat logo twice and has a cane with “1970”. A rare gem. 3 5/16 inch diameter; 2 1/16 inches tall; weight is one pound and seven ounces.  $650
