PW2759. Baccarat 1971 one-of-a-kind red, white, and blue floral bouquet over a sunny bright yellow ground. Excellent play of colors. I don’t believe I’ve seen another base this color. You can see a swirl from color mixing on the base like you might see in a can of paint that has sat for a while and is being stirred. Etched twice with the Baccarat logo on the base and engraved “491” “1971”. This paperweight is pictured in Baccarat Paperweights by Paul Dunlop on page 179. 3 1/8 inch diameter; 2 1/4 inches tall; one pound and six ounces. PW2757. Rare Baccarat 1971 Magnum Three Flower Bouquet on blue ground. This weight is featured in Paul Dunlop’s Baccarat book on page 178. (Antique Baccarat carpet grounds generally fetch between ten and twenty thousand dollars and are nowhere near as perfect as these.) Drawn in staves. Cane “B1971” in the closepack.
